How do I clean Enamel cast iron casserole?
When you're done cooking with your cast iron skillet, scrape it out with a wooden spoon while it's still hot. Wipe it down with a paper towel with some oil.
If scraping the pan with a spoon doesn't scrape off all the dirt, melt a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the pan, turn off the heat and add a tablespoon of salt. Scrub the pan with a paper towel held in tongs. Wipe off the salt with a clean paper towel. Rinse in hot water, wipe dry, and re-season as above.
If the wooden spoon and salt do not work for you, you can use a mild diluted soap and a soft sponge to clean the pan. Dry the pan with a clean, dry dish towel and place it in a warm oven to dry completely. Re-season the cast iron according to the seasoning instructions above.
Note: Never put your screaming hot cast iron pan into water. It may break.
